Fergus Falls, MN – A Fergus Falls woman was arrested this weekend after being accused of threatening her son and his girlfriend with a gun.
According to Otter Tail County prosecutors, 46-year-old Tami Hendershot was arrested Sunday morning (March 9th) after an altercation between her and her son escalated. Hendershot told deputies that she had used a racial slur the night before that had upset the girlfriend. She said that while she and her son were arguing about the previous night’s events, the girlfriend walked into Hendershot’s room.
Deputies say that when the girlfriend entered the room, Hendershot hit her for not leaving her personal space and the girlfriend hit her back. Hendershot grabbed a gun that she claims was not loaded and her son wrestled it away from her. The girlfriend told officials that when Hendershot grabbed the gun she said, “I’m going to shoot you.”
Hendershot was brought to the Otter Tail County Detention Facility and made her first court appearance Monday morning (March 10th). She has been charged with Threats of Violence and Assault.
