Former Clay County Jail Employee Accused of Sexual Misconduct with Inmate

Moorhead, MN (KFGO) – A former Clay County Jail employee has been charged with sexual misconduct.

23-year-old Chloe Nord of Fargo was arrested over the weekend. The Clay County Attorney’s Office says Nord became romantically involved with an inmate between last November and January of this year. She’s accused of exchanging messages with the inmate.

The inmate told investigators that he and Nord planned to continue their relationship after he was released. He said Nord touched him inappropriately twice while he was in jail. She initially denied physical contact, but later said she “fell under his spell.”

Nord briefly worked as an officer with Grand Forks Police after she left her job at the jail in Moorhead.
