Moorhead, MN (KFGO) – Clay County Sheriff Mark Empting says a corrections officer at the jail in Moorhead was the driver of a motorcycle who crashed into a car in south Fargo Friday night.
20-year-old Avery Quiner of Moorhead ran into a car driven by a Detroit Lakes woman at the intersection of 52nd Avenue and 31st Street South.
Quiner suffered serious injuries and was taken to a Fargo hospital by ambulance. The driver of the car and a passenger suffered minor injuries.
Fargo police had earlier clocked Quiner’s motorcycle at 140-miles-an-hour, but did not pursue out of concern for public safety. Empting says Quiner has worked in the jail for about a year and no disciplinary action will be taken until his medical condition improves.
