Fergus Falls, MN – A woman has been charged for driving while high on drugs with her adolescent son in the car.

State Troopers say that 30-year-old Megan Kelly Thorsen of Grand Forks was heading east on I-94 near Fergus Falls Saturday afternoon when her vehicle was seen repeatedly crossing over the center and fog lines. The trooper on scene pulled the vehicle over and found Thorsen with her young son in the passenger seat.

When asked why she was all over the road, Thorsen told the trooper that she had been driving for a while, but the trooper noticed signs of drug intoxication, including being unable to sit still, reaching for random items, and bloodshot eyes. The trooper searched the vehicle and found 4 grams of a white substance that tested positive for fentanyl and a hypodermic needle.

Thorsen was arrested and a urine sample was taken for a drug test. She has been charged with 5th Degree Drug Possession and 3rd Degree DWI.
