Fergus Falls, MN – After a year of construction, the Fergus Fall Aquatic Center is set to open on June 2nd.
Before the Grand Opening, there will be an Open House event from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on May 29th. Fergus Falls Mayor Anthony Hicks says, “During that time, obviously people will have to kick the wheels and see what it looks like inside. There’ll also be the opportunity to for people to buy some season passes.”
On June 2nd, the Ribbon Cutting will be held at 11:45 a.m. with the pool opening at noon. Mayor Hicks says that entry to the pool on that first day will be free, “So people can, not only come to help cut the ribbon and celebrate it, but they can also be able to take a dive.” He jokingly adds, “I’m not personally a fish. I’m not a person that likes to spend a lot of time in the water, so don’t expect to see the Mayor plunging in there.” There will also be music, food trucks, and other treats at the event.
While Mayor Hicks hopes for the weather to be pleasant for the Grand Opening, the city has set an alternate date of June 3rd in the event of inclement weather.
