
2025 Unity Wellness ABLE Games athletes. (LRHC)
Fergus Falls, MN – To kick off the month of May, 18 athletes from Unity Wellness at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls proudly participated in the ABLE Games in Fargo.
“The ABLE Games aims to break down barriers and promote fitness for everyone, regardless of physical or cognitive challenges,” said Sharla Mitchell, Unity Wellness Trainer. “This event features a variety of adaptive fitness challenges that cater to different skill levels, ensuring that every participant can compete and celebrate their achievements. The competition also fosters a sense of community and support among all involved.”
Unity Wellness was proud to send 9 teams, for a total of 18 dedicated athletes, to the ABLE Games. These athletes trained rigorously and demonstrated their capabilities and resilience. The participants from Unity Wellness included: Tariq and Qatar, Team Swole Mates; Zade and Eric, Team WOD’s Up; Brian and Ben, Team Crush It; Kristin and Brittany, Team Lift Legends; Jake and Doug, Team Junk in the Frunk; Justin and Rebecca, Team Tough as Nails; Sophia and Stephanie, Team Lift & Conquer; Isaac and Nick, Team Resilient Champions; Janaya and Ayla, Team Dynamic Divas; and Harley, fellow athlete and next-year competitor.
“Many thanks to our athletes, their families, and my fellow trainers Angela Haarstad and Stephanie Hoff,” said Mitchell. “The team unity behind this program is a true gift.”
