Elizabeth, MN – A semi went over a bridge rail on I-94 onto County Highway 10 west of Elizabeth this morning (June 4th).
State Patrol Sergeant Jesse Grabow says that around 10:20 a.m. a Kenworth semi and a Freightliner truck were both heading west near mile marker 47 on I-94 when the vehicles collided, sending the Kenworth over the side of the railing.
The driver of the Kenworth, 53-year-old Eric Watson of Forrest Lake was transported from the scene to Lake Region Healthcare for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Freightliner, 21-year-old Brennen Volkmann of Henning also received minor injuries, but was not transported. Volkmann’s passenger from Wadena was uninjured. The State Patrol is investigating.
County Highway 10 is closed from Elizabeth to County Highway 21. The State Patrol is being assisted by the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, Rothsay Fire and Rescue, Ringdahl Ambulance and Beyer Towing.
