Fergus Falls, MN – Fergus Falls SummerFest is kicking off for its 49th year.

Julie Gray, a member of the SummerFest planning committee, says there is a lot to look forward to this Friday and Saturday: games for the kids, dozens of art vendors, live music, and 18 food vendors.

Something new this year is the Nomadic Arcade, a mobile pinball arcade created by Carl Zachmann. The 19-foot trailer is set to make its debut at this year’s event. Gray says, “I hear it’s just a lot of fun. It’s kind of geared towards the older kids, I think a smaller child can play it, for sure, but I think it’s young adults and adults.”

The SummerFest stage on the grounds of the Kirkbride will be headlined on Friday night by 32 Below beginning at 6 p.m. with fireworks to follow. Saturdays festivities will close with the parade downtown starting at 6 p.m.

Despite the colder weather forecast, Gray says, “That’s kind of cold for the lakes, perhaps. Grab your hoodie, drive into Fergus, and meet friends, meet family. Let’s celebrate Fergus Falls and the beginning of summer.”

Art vendors will be open starting at noon on Friday, and will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
