On Friday, August 1st, at 2:48 in the afternoon, the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, Fergus Falls Police Department, Fergus Falls Fire Department, and Ringdahl Ambulance responded to the report of a UTV rollover crash at 24041 County Highway 1 which is Northeast of the city of Fergus Falls, MN. Information stated that an 8 year old had crashed and was unconscious.
The driver and a juvenile sibling (passenger), were driving in a field with rough terrain. The driver attempted to turn, causing the UTV to roll. The driver was pinned under the UTV, but was rescued by family members prior to first responder arrival. Neither party was wearing a helmet.
The driver did not have a seatbelt on, but the passenger did. First responders arrived on scene soon after and rendered aid to the driver. The 8 year old driver was life-flighted by Life Link to Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.
The passenger was not injured. Condition of the driver is unknown at this time and the accident is under investigation by the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office.
