Fergus Falls, MN – Crews have begun demolition on the former Burger King building at 528 Western Avenue in Fergus Falls.
The former fast-food restaurant has been vacant for nearly five years, and many residents have been waiting to see a new business take that location.
According to documents submitted to the Fergus Falls City Council for a variance, the plan is for two businesses to move in once construction of a new building is complete. The first will be a restaurant on the west side of the building, described in the documents as a “fast-casual” restaurant. The east side of the building is said to be used for a future coffee shop.
Earlier this year, job openings could be seen for a Wendy’s at that address, however, the company appears to have backed out of using that location, allowing these other businesses to step in.
The identity of the businesses moving in next to the AmericInn are not public at this time.
