Minnesota Farmfest 2025 Woman Farmer of the Year winner Kris Huebsch. (Farmfest)
New York Mills, MN -A farmer from New York Mills won Woman Farmer of the Year at Minnesota Farmfest 2025.
At the Women in Ag event on Thursday, August 7th, Kris Huebsch of Otter Berry Farms and fROOTz was honored alongside the four other finalists for their hard work and dedication to the agriculture industry. At that event, Kris was awarded the title of Woman Farmer of the Year.
Kris and her husband started Otter Berry Farms in 2017, allowing people to experience farming through their u-pick strawberry operation.
In a Facebook post, Otter Tail County congratulated Kris, saying, “We are proud of your participation in our communities and your dedication as a 4-H club leader and county fair judge, too!”
Otter Tail Lakes Country Association, to which Kris is a member, also congratulated her, posting, “Congratulations to Kris Huebsch of Otter Berry Farm on being named the Minnesota Farmfest Woman Farmer of the Year. Kris and her family own & operate a farm south of New York Mills, MN. Not only do they have production fields for crops, they do a tremendous job helping people experience farming with their u-pick strawberry & raspberry fields during the summer months & their corn maze in the fall. Agritourism is an important part of our local economy and we are super grateful for Kris and the entire Huebsch family.”
IDEAg, the organization that hosts Farmfest, says the Woman Farmer of the Year Award honors the hard-working female farmers across Minnesota who selflessly give their time to growing the crops and raising the livestock needed to feed the world.
