Fergus Falls, MN – Two former employees of Lakeway Express in Fergus Falls have been charged for stealing lottery tickets from the gas station.

33-year-old Donovan Trayon Bolden of Fergus Falls and 50-year-old Heidi Marie Hagen of Fergus Falls were officially charged with state lottery fraud and theft at their first court appearances this week.

Otter Tail County prosecutors say the pair were both working at Lakeway Express in January of 2025, when they began taking lottery tickets without paying for them. Investigators viewed security footage from both Lakeway Express and Walmart that shows the pair taking the tickets and scratching them off at work and then bringing the winning tickets to Walmart to cash in the prizes.

Investigators say the value of the verified stolen tickets to Lakeway Express was over $9,000.
