Detroit Lakes, MN – Two people were injured in a crash on Highway 34 east of Detroit Lakes Wednesday afternoon (August 27).
State Troopers say 62-year-old Craig Blonigan of Frazee was transported to Essentia Health in Detroit Lakes for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries after failing to yield to another vehicle. Blonigan’s Pontiac was stopped at County Road 29 to turn left on westbound Highway 34, when it drove forward and collided with the Mitsubishi that was eastbound.
The driver of the Mitsubishi was not injured, but the passenger, 30-year-old Brittany Edin of Lake George, received non-life-threatning injuries and was transported to Essentia Health for treatment.
The State Patrol says alcohol was not involved in the accident.
