New York Mills, MN – A shed in New York Mills was destroyed by a fire Tuesday night.

The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office say fire crews responded to a report of a structure fire on the northeast side of the city at around 6:45 p.m., where they found a 24×32 shed had been engulfed in flames. The New York Mills Fire Department, assisted by the Bluffton and Perham Fire Departments, were able to extinguish the fire.

While Otter Tail County officials have confirmed the shed and its contents are a total loss, they have not given an estimated value of the damage. There were no reported injuries at the time of the fire. Officials believe the fire originated from an electric heat lamp.

The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office and the New York Mills Police Department also assisted with the incident.
