St. Paul, MN – Minnesota Senator Torrey Westrom is applauding President Trump for bringing back whole and two percent milk to school lunch menus.
The Republican from Alexandria says this new legislation reverses Obama-era restrictions that limited milk choices in school to low-fat and skim. Westrom says this decision supports Minnesota’s dairy economy by giving farmers more opportunities to supply whole and two percent milk to the schools.
The Trump decision does allow parents to still choose a non-dairy option for their child if requested through the school.
