St. Paul, MN – It is being reported that Senator Amy Klobuchar has filed the preliminary paperwork to run for Minnesota Governor.
A source close to the Senator told WCCO and other outlets that the paperwork has been signed and an official announcement would be coming soon.
Klobuchar has been rumored to be considering a run for the position since Governor Tim Walz announced that he would be withdrawing his bid for a third term.
While Klobuchar appears to be the only Democrat running in the gubernatorial race, several Republican candidates are looking to be endorsed by their party this spring, including Minnesota House Speaker Lisa Demuth, State Representative Kristin Robbins, and MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell.
