Fergus Falls, MN – A new nonprofit organization, Rivers Area Memory Café, is launching in the Fergus Falls area to provide connection, learning, resources and support for individuals living with memory loss and the family members, friends, and care partners who support them.
Monthly Rivers Area Memory Café gatherings will take place on the third Tuesday of each month from 1:00–3:00 p.m. at the Fergus Falls YMCA Community Room. Each session includes light movement, educational conversation, interactive activities, and time to connect with others who share similar experiences. The organization seeks to enhance quality of life and reduce isolation for those impacted by dementia and other memory challenges.
While Fergus Falls is the organization’s initial gathering location, Rivers Area Memory Café has goals of expanding to additional meeting sites in surrounding communities, increasing access to supportive, relationship-centered programming across the region. Rivers Area Memory Café organizers are looking forward to announcing a Breckenridge location in the near future.
“Our goal is to create a space where people feel safe, supported, and understood,” organizers shared. “Rivers Area Memory Café is about growing community, celebrating connection, and honoring the unique stories each person brings.”
Attendance is free, and while registrations are appreciated, they are not required. Learn more on the Rivers Area Memory Café website.
