5-Vehicle Crash Near Brandon Leaves Multiple Injured

Brandon, MN – Three people were hurt in a five-vehicle collision near Brandon Sunday afternoon. Troopers say that at around 2:40 p.m., two semis, a sedan, a pickup truck, and an SUV were all heading west on I-94 in Brandon Township when they collided.

The driver of the SUV, 33-year-old Marissa Vazquez of Elbow Lake, was not hurt, but her 11 and 12-year-old passengers were taken to Elbow Lake Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the pickup, 32-year-old Casey Jones of Moorhead, suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. The other drivers were not hurt.

Troopers say the roads were covered in snow and ice at the time of the crash. The State Patrol was assisted by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Brandon and Garfield Fire Departments, and North Ambulance.
