Winter Olympics Causing Surge of Interest in Skiing at Andes Tower Hills

Kensington, MN (Voice of Alexandria) – Snowboarding and downhill skiing are two of the most popular events at the Winter Olympics every four years. This year, the Olympics are in Italy and the interest is high once again in these two events.

Tom Anderson of Andes Tower Hills says there has been a surge in interest in skiing locally. He says, “I think there’s a lot of people, I call them wannabes. Where they want to be this and the want to be that. They want to come out and, whatever they see on TV they think they can duplicate and Andes Tower Hills.

Anderson says the conditions are great right now at Andes to practice to maybe one day make it to the Winter Olympics as well. Other ski resorts and slopes around the state are also reporting a recent surge in interest in skiing and snowboarding due to the Winter Olympics.
