Elbow Lake, MN – Grant County officials are urging the public to use extreme caution on the ice on all area lakes at this time due to unsafe and deteriorating ice conditions.
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office has received a report of open water on the south side of Pelican Lake, and conditions can change rapidly with recent temperatures and weather patterns.
Anyone with fish houses or other equipment on the ice is strongly encouraged to remove them as soon as possible, if able, while it can still be done safely.
The Sheriff’s Office says residents’ safety is its top priority, and ask people not risk traveling on the ice, and use extreme caution near shorelines and pressure areas.
