Otter Tail County, MN – A homeless man was arrested for sexually assaulting a minor in Otter Tail County.
26-year-old Shea Hites has been accused of having sexual contact with a 14-year-old between March 2024 and August 2024. On March 27, 2026, Otter Tail County deputies received a report from a school resource officer that a 16-year-old was asking about what could be done about a sexual assault that occurred over a year prior.
According to court documents, the victim told deputies that Hites had been staying with their family at the time. They said Hites had originally just wanted to have them hang out in his room, but he eventually initiated a “physical and sexual relationship” with them. The victim described their interactions like they were dating and said they “broke up” shortly after he moved out of the home.
Hites was arrested on Tuesday and has been charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor. He made his first court appearance Thursday morning.
