Fergus Falls, MN – The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites the public to attend a construction open house on Thursday, April 23, from 5 to 7 p.m., held at the AmericInn by Wyndham, 526 Western Ave in Fergus Falls to learn more about this year’s project at the west junction of Highway 210 and Interstate 94.

There will be no formal presentation, and people are welcome to stop by at their convenience during the open house. Construction staff from MnDOT and the contractor will be available to answer questions about the project, construction timelines, and detour routes.

This year, MnDOT will be making major improvements to the west junction of Highway 210 and I-94. The work includes replacing the existing two bridges with a single structure; building trails on both sides of the road; constructing three roundabouts, one at each interchange ramp as well as Redwood lane; and realigning the on- and off-ramps.

Construction is expected to begin April 27, with lane closures and shoulder closures on I-94 and Highway 210 as crews install traffic control devices. Then, starting May 4, the interchange ramps will close and traffic to/from Highway 210 will be detoured to County Road 1/Tower Road through October. Highway 210 will remain open for east/west traffic.

Overnight closures on I-94 will also take place starting May 4 for bridge demolition. For up to three nights, I-94 will close in both directions and traffic will be temporarily routed around the work area using the ramps. The ramps will close again during the daytime. Hours of operation are still to be determined and will be announced when we get closer to construction starting. When the bridge demolition is complete, the ramps will remain closed 24/7 through October.

Park Construction, based in Minneapolis, is the prime contractor for the $18.6 million project.
