Fergus Falls, MN – With local American Idol contestant Chris Tungseth going further into the competition, the Fergus Falls Community is getting ready to host a Hometown Hero celebration.
When Chris makes the Top 3 contestants on Monday, May 4, the show will be flying Chris and a production team to Fergus Falls on May 6 to film a day of events including a parade downtown and a concert performed by Chris at Kirkbride Park (RTC).
Organizers have been told to expect a large group of people coming to Fergus for this event. Gates to the concert at the RTC will open at 6 p.m., and for safety purposes organizers are not allowing vehicular traffic on the campus to mix with these large crowds. The city has been working with M-State to be used as a drop-off point and with Otter Tail Coaches to provide for shuttle busses to the parade and concert. However, organizers do anticipate people will park in unexpected places, including your property for the concert.
The Fergus Falls Area Chamber of Commerce is encouraging businesses that don’t want people parking in their lots to barricade them off with signs and physical structures. The event will be tying up many of the Police and Fire Department members and they won’t be responding as quickly as usual to non-emergency calls.

In order for Chris to make the Top 3, people need to vote. Follow the instructions below during the voting period on Monday to make sure your votes are cast.
