Pelican Rapids, MN – A motorcyclist from Pelican Rapids sustained minor injuries after he made an abrupt stop last Thursday.
The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office says 26-year-old Brendan Nolan anticipated an oncoming vehicle was going to turn in front of him and he aggressively applied the front brake, causing him to elevate over the handlebars while skidding the motorcycle down.
Nolan sustained several road rash injuries and a possible foot injury, but he denied an ambulance. Deputies say Nolan was wearing a helmet and is expected to be fine. He didn’t collide with anything, but the motorcycle did sustain minor damage.
No citations were issued, and alcohol and speed were not a factor for either driver.
