Dalton, MN – A Sauk Centre woman has been sentenced for selling drugs in Dalton.
On Tuesday, 55-year-old Monica Collins was sentenced to 180 days in the Otter Tail County Detention Facility for 1st degree sale of drugs after she pleaded guilty in July.
Prosecutors say that Collins sold 25 grams of methamphetamine to a confidential informant in May 2024. According to court documents, the informant had approached a special agent of the West Central Drug Task Force, saying that they could buy an ounce of meth from Collins for $350.
The agents sent the informant to the buy, where they say Collins had the informant get in her car, drove them around while conducting the buy, and then dropped them off. The informant brought the agents a baggie of presumed meth, which tested positive for the substance.
A warrant for Collin’s arrest was issued, and she was taken into custody last June. In addition to the local jail time, Collins was also sentenced to 5 years on probation.
