Otter Tail County – to Include the City of Fergus Falls – Included in Recent Change to Burning Restrictions

By McLovin Sep 3, 2021 | 5:35 PM

Effective at 12:01 am on September 3, 2021 recreational camp fires within city limits of Fergus Falls are once again allowed. This is in response to the most recent update from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and that Otter Tail County is one of several counties with lessening restrictions on recreational fires.

A recreational fire permit is required for such fires with the City limits. Permits are free and are available under the Fire Department section of the City website or can be obtained in person at the Fire Stations during regular administration hours.

As a friendly reminder, be courteous and safe if you choose to have a recreational fire. Your enjoyment next to a fire may not be as enjoyable to your neighbor due to smoke. Adherence to the rules listed on your recreational fire permit is a must.
