School Closings and Delays

The first winter storm of the season arrived across the Lakes Area, Thursday evening.

Around an inch and a half of snow fell in the overnight hours and 40 mph gusts have made travel difficult.

A number of schools in the area are running two hours late or have cancelled in-person classes, Friday and moved to E-Learning.

The National Weather Service says the snow bands that have moved through the area will diminish by mid-morning and there will be a very slow diminishing trend in the wind by afternoon.

Travel is expected to be impacted for most of the day, especially in open country where blowing and drifting snow will occur.
