(MNN) — Minnesota health officials are celebrating the one-millionth COVID-19 test administered at the community testing sites.
Assistant health commissioner Dan Huff said, “the milestone is a credit to the incredible effort from so many people around the state, and it reminds us of the continued importance of testing for preventing the spread of COVID-19.”
The 20-plus community testing sites offer a test to anyone regardless of whether they have health insurance. Minnesota has conducted a total of six-point-four million tests since the pandemic began.
Officials are recommending regular testing of people ages 12 to 25, especially those in sports and extracurricular activities.
