Minnesota DNR Urges Caution Around Lakes And Ponds

By Dave Bishop Nov 25, 2021 | 7:33 AM

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is reminding everyone to use caution around lakes and ponds that are starting to freeze.

The D-N-R says ice thickness is not consistent and the water is dangerously cold where ice hasn’t formed.

Conservation officers are asking parents to talk with their kids about being vigilant around the water during the Thanksgiving holiday break.

They say everyone should stay off lakes and ponds until there are at least four inches of new, clear ice.
