(MNN) – Democrats in the Minnesota House last night (Thurs) used a parliamentary move to block Republicans’ attempts to cancel Governor Tim Walz’s COVID restrictions on wedding venues.
Alexandria Republican Mary Franson read an e-mail she received from a business operator:
“We’re a year-round wedding and event venue that is 100 percent shut down by the governor’s executive order. We can’t offer curbside, outdoor or any service. Why are we not included in the relief package?”
Democrats voted that Republicans’ proposed amendment was not germaine to a marriage license bill.
