Hormel Closing Willmar Turkey Plant to Consolidate Jennie-O Business

Hormel Foods plans to shut down its Jennie-O plant in Willmar.  Executives with the food giant announced Thursday that despite a record year in sales, increased costs ate into their profits.

No layoffs will be made because close to 200 workers will transition to the newer and larger turkey facility in Willmar.

The closure of the older plant will take place within the next several months.
