More Than $11,000 Raised for Perham Woman Battling Chronic Lyme Disease

(KDLM) – More than $11,000 has been raised for a Perham woman who has been diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease.

Mikaela Waldon says in 2013 she began to experience debilitation join and muscle pain. It got so bad that, the former all-state gymnast would need help brushing her teeth and walking.

After more than 8 years, Waldon is now starting a personalized treatment plan with Lyme Mexico Clinic, based in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Waldon says insurance will not cover most of the critical aspects of her care.

GoFundMe fundraiser with a goal of $25,000 has been created, additionally donations can be made at United Community Bank in Perham. Waldon says donations will go towards medical expenses, travel costs, and living expenses during her time in Mexico.
