Fergus Falls Westridge Apartment Fire Fundraiser/Benefit

This Sunday afternoon (February 20^th), the community is invited to Love of God Family Church for a fundraiser/benefit for the people affected by the Westridge Apartment fire that happened in January.

Love of God Family Church Senior Pastor Maggie Aul said, “This is just going to be a comfortable, easy-going, laid-back, time to get together and just bless the people that need help.”

All 24 apartments suffered from this fire. There were people who got serious burns, pets were lost, furnishings were destroyed and more. Some people are still living in hotels.

Aul explained, “One person or even two people would not be able to help to the extent that these people need, but when a community comes together and each person just gives a little bit of what they can, it adds up and that’s what they need, so that’s why we really decided to do it.”

There will be a free will donation collected. Food and drinks, provided by church members, will also be available to enjoy. This includes loaded nachos, dessert, coffee, tea and soda. All of the money raised from this will all go to the tenants of the apartments.

Aul said, “We look forward to seeing the community come together. I think that’s what will be so uplifting, supporting and healing for these people…to see they’re not alone.”

Love of God Family Church is located at 829 N. Tower Road in Fergus Falls. The fundraiser will be from 2p-4p on Sunday.

People unable to attend the event are encouraged donate by sending checks to Love of God Family Church.
