NP Park to Become Dr Allen Magnuson Park

At Tuesday night’s Fergus Falls City Council meeting the council took unanimous action to authorize a new name for NP Park.

Fergus Falls City Administrator Andrew Bremseth, “the council took action to authorize the renaming of NP Park as the Dr. Allen Magnuson Playground. It was really a fun conversation in remembrance of a really great individual, a really great community partner, champion, and doctor.”

Dr. Magnuson was a pediatrician at Fergus Falls Medical Group for 40 years.

Lake Region Healthcare is partnering with the city, and will cover the cost of changing the signs from NP Park to Dr. Allen Magnuson Park.

The city acquired the property from Northern Pacific Railroad back in the 40’s for $1.
