Fergus Falls will soon be home to a Harbor Freight Tools.
Harbor Freight Tools is a family-owned company that has been around for 45 years. There are over 1,200 stores and they sell over 7,000 products.
Craig Hoffman, Director of Corporate Communications for Harbor Freight Tools said, “It’s a great place to get everything you need, whether you’re a professional, a DIY’er or a hobbyist, or a homeowner who needs to make some repairs.”
Hoffman explained, “Right now, our customers have to go either 45 miles to Alexandria to shop or even farther, to have to cross state lines, to go to Fargo, which is like 55 miles, so this is going to be a lot easier for customers in the area to shop at Harbor Freight Tools.” He added, “This is going to be our very first store in Otter Tail County so it’s a big deal for us. It’s going to be our 22nd in Minnesota.”
According to Hoffman, there are lot of factors that go into determining if a community is the right place for a Harbor Freight Tools. This includes good visibility, easy access in and out and ample parking. He said that Fergus Falls meets all of those requirements.
Harbor Freight Tools in Fergus Falls will be located at 1901 West Lincoln Avenue and will be open Monday through Saturday, 8a-8p and Sundays 9a-6p.
Hoffman said, “We’re looking forward to opening in Fergus Falls and hope to see everybody sometime this summer.” He shared that the current plan is for the store to open in early summer (June is the current target).
The crews that are prepping the location are local hires and the idea is to hire 25-30 area people for when the store is in operation.
