Since February of 2012, Keith and Bernadette Erickson have owned the Sears Hometown Store on Lincoln Avenue in Fergus Falls and now the couple is retiring.
Bernadette explained that Keith was approached about 11 years ago about running the Sears Store and the rest is history. She said, “We both had retail experience so it was perfect.”
Over the years, the two have been a staple in downtown Fergus Falls, helping people find all kinds of products for their homes, being a part of community events and more.
Bernadette said, “We’ve really enjoyed working with all of our customers. There are great people in our community and we’re going to miss everybody, but we’d like to thank everybody for being good customers.” She added, “We had so many regular customers and people coming in just chatting with us on a regular basis. It’s been fun.”
Bernadette and Keith will be enjoying retirement by taking some time, spending time with family and visiting Bernadette’s native Ireland.
According to Bernadette, Sears has decided to no longer operate in Fergus Falls once she and Keith retire on Saturday, August 6th. The current inventory at the Sears Hometown Store in Fergus Falls will be taken by Sears to other stores.
