(Minneapolis, MN)  —  A Minneapolis man is accused of using 3-D printers to manufacture parts that turn a gun into a fully automatic firearm.

Twenty-five-year-old Aaron Cato made his first federal court appearance Wednesday on one count of possession of machine guns.

Court records say Customs and Border Protection intercepted a package sent to Cato from Taiwan last week containing 30 firearm parts.  Authorities searched his home and recovered seven firearms, two A-R-style rifles, four 3-D printers, and three auto sears.

Three of the firearms were so-called ghost guns equipped with auto sears. Cato remains in federal custody.
