DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – Residents of Lake Melissa and Sallie say there were concerned recently when a boat was spotted with bright lights driving around docks and appearing to be spraying something into the water.
The DNR says it can be easily explained, as they conducted an annual night electrofishing survey looking for young walleye that were born this year. The people in the front of the boat have long nets that may look like someone is spraying something in the water.
Nathan Olson, DNR Area Fisheries Supervisor said they weren’t able to find any young walleye, so they’ll plan to follow-up by stocking the lakes with walleye fingerlings this fall
