(KNSI) – A man riding an ATV was found dead after he didn’t return from a ride.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says the 52-year-old was reported missing Sunday afternoon by a group of ATV riders camping in the Spider Lake ATV Recreation Area in the Foothills State Forrest.
Conservation officers were told the Center City man had gone out on a short ride around 8:30 that morning and hadn’t returned. After a while, the campers became worried and started searching for him. Officials then joined the search, and the man was found around 5:45 p.m.
Investigators say the man was driving an ATV when he left the trail while rounding a curve, going into a steep ravine and causing the machine to roll over.
An autopsy has been scheduled with the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office. The incident remains under investigation.
