Postcards, a program airing on Pioneer PBS, will feature three artists from Minnesota, including Fergus Falls-based baker Jeney Christensen, Duluth-based multidisciplinary artist Jonathan Thunder, and Wood Lake artist Miles Taylor on its upcoming episode.

The program will air on Thursday, March 16 at 7 p.m. and will focus on the work and stories of these three artists.

Jeney Christensen, the owner of Peney Cakes Cupcakery, will share her journey of turning her baking hobby into a successful business.

Christensen sells her delicious baked goods online, at pop-ups, and out of her cupcake trailer in Fergus Falls.

She said, “Instead of working for the man, I wanted to be the woman,” about her decision to make the leap into entrepreneurship.

Jonathan Thunder, an enrolled member of the Red Lake Band of Ojibwe, is a painter and filmmaker based in Duluth.

In this episode, Thunder will share the inspiration behind his art, which incorporates a multidisciplinary approach

Miles Taylor, an artist based in Wood Lake, works with technology to create his art. He explores the relatively new medium of glitch art, which intentionally corrupts technology to create art.

As an experienced DJ and creative organizer, Taylor will also discuss combining aspects of urban life with the slower pace of life on the prairie.

Viewers in Pioneer PBS’s viewing area can live-stream this episode at pioneer.org/live on Thursday, March 16 at 7 in the evening.

The episode will be repeated on Sunday, March 19th at 7 in the evening and Monday, March 20th at 1:30 in the afternoon.

The program will also be available to stream at www.pioneer.org/postcards and on Postcards’ YouTube page at youtube.com/@PostcardsOnPioneerPBS.

With Fergus Falls’ own Jeney Christensen being one of the featured artists, this episode promises to be an engaging and inspiring look into the creative minds of Minnesota artists.
