(Alexandria, MN) — State Senator Torrey Westrom of Alexandria is recovering from injuries suffered in a snowmobile crash Sunday afternoon on Lake Ida.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says 49-year-old Westrom was a passenger on a snowmobile driven by a 13-year-old boy that struck a packed snowdrift.
The report says Westrom was thrown from the machine and complaining of chest pain at the scene.
He was taken by ambulance to the hospital where he remains for observation. Deputies say the teen wasn’t hurt.
A statement from the Senate G-O-P Caucus says,” Senator Westrom sends his thanks to the first responders for their care and fast response.”
