The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office is set to host a series of alcohol server training sessions on April 12th, aiming to promote responsible alcohol service and enhance public safety.
The classes, which are free of charge, are recommended to be taken every two years and will last approximately one hour.
One class is scheduled for 3 PM at the Government Service Center located at 520 Fir Avenue.
Another class will be held the same day at 6 PM in New York Mills, at 28 West Centennial 84 Drive.
Although reserving a seat is not mandatory, it is highly recommended to ensure a spot in the class.
During these training sessions, attendees will acquire valuable knowledge on checking IDs to recognize minors, preventing second-party sales, and avoiding over-serving customers.
The program will also provide insights on protecting establishments and servers from liability, recognizing the effects of alcohol on customers, and refusing sales to intoxicated persons and minors.
Upon completing the class, participants will receive a certificate.
For any questions or to reserve a seat, please contact Deputy Saewert at Isaewert@co.ottertail.mn.us or Deputy Friedsam at kfriedsam@co.ottertail.mn.us, or call 218-367-6301.
