(St. Paul, MN) — This is the final day (Monday) of 2023 legislative session at the State Capitol.
The Minnesota Senate and the House both finished for the day by early evening yesterday (Sunday) — very unusual for the second-to-the-last day of the session, which has some hoping for a relatively calm and orderly finish by tonight’s (Mon) midnight deadline.
The last big roadblock was removed over the weekend when Democrats and Republicans agreed to a borrowing (bonding) package plus nursing home funding.
House Speaker Melissa Hortman says staff is now having to do a “super-human” job to get that bill into its final form and “and hopefully we’ll be done in time.”
