As the back-to-school season approaches, the United Way of Otter Tail & Wadena Counties is launching its annual “Stuff the Bus” school supply drive to provide much-needed support for students from Kindergarten to 12th grade.
The initiative aims to equip students with essential tools for a successful academic year while alleviating the financial burden on families in the region.
The “Stuff the Bus” campaign, organized by the United Way, encourages community members to come together and contribute towards a common goal – ensuring that every student has the necessary supplies to excel in their studies.
By providing these essential resources, the initiative aims to empower students and set them up for a successful learning journey.
Those looking to support the cause can participate in two ways.
Firstly, donors can purchase school supplies online through the dedicated portal: oonga.com/stuffthebus.
This online option makes shopping more convenient for those who wish to contribute.
Secondly, individuals can choose to drop off their donations at designated collection bin sites located at Gate City Bank, BOM (formerly Bank of the West), Park Region, YMCA, and the United Way office in Fergus Falls.
The United Way recognizes the importance of community support in fostering a conducive learning environment for all students.
To that end, the “Stuff the Bus” campaign emphasizes the significance of providing equal opportunities for education, regardless of financial constraints faced by families.
Families in need of assistance to prepare their children for the upcoming school year can apply for support through the “Stuff the Bus” program.
The application form can be accessed online at the following link: Stuff the Bus Application.
Applications must be submitted before the deadline on August 4, 2023.
The “Stuff the Bus” campaign is made possible through the generous sponsorship of Gate City Bank of Fergus Falls and United Community Bank of Perham.
