(St. Paul, MN) — A new exhibit at the Minnesota History Center showcases the personal history and talent of artist Charles Schulz.
Museum manager Annie Johnson says it includes his early life in St. Paul and development of the Peanuts gang characters.
She says the first comic strip Charlie Brown and Snoopy appeared in is in the exhibit and there are more than 36 of his comic strips.
Johnson says Schulz had a cartoon in the Pioneer Press called “L’il Folks”, but the name was changed to “Peanuts” when the comic strip was picked up for national syndication. She says they have added a lot of his Minnesota connections to the local exhibit.
