Law enforcement authorities at Breezy Point Resort made a grim discovery on September 5th,
as they responded to a distress call at the 8400 block of Whitebirch Drive.
According to an official statement from the Breezy Point Police Department, officers arrived at the scene at 8:48 p.m. and found three deceased individuals. Initially, reports from MN Crime on Twitter suggested two fatalities, but subsequent investigation, including the forced entry into the location, revealed a third victim.
Preliminary investigations by the Breezy Point Police Department have not indicated any ongoing threat to the public.
The identities of the deceased are being withheld pending formal identification and notification of their next of kin.
The investigation into this tragic incident is actively ongoing, and further information will be shared as it becomes available.
Several law enforcement agencies have stated that are investigating the incident as a likely murder/suicide.
Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Nisswa Police Department, Crosslake Police Department, and Pequot Lakes Police Department, provided assistance at the scene.
