33-year-old Woman Taken into Custody as Methamphetamine Operation Uncovered in Fergus Falls.

A Fergus Falls woman, Dilfa Munguia, age 33, was arrested at her residence on Riverside Court in the 700 block on September 5th.

A significant drug bust unfolded in Otter Tail County as law enforcement apprehended Dilfa Munguia on multiple drug-related charges following an extensive investigation.

The arrest took place on September 5, 2023, and Munguia now faces serious legal consequences for her alleged involvement in drug trafficking.

The charges against Munguia stem from her alleged involvement in the sale of controlled substances within the County of Otter Tail, specifically at her residence on 700 block of Riverside Court in Fergus Falls.

Fergus Falls Police Detective Estep initiated the investigation on April 28, 2023, after receiving information regarding illicit drug activities associated with Munguia’s residence.

Detective Estep, during the course of the investigation, observed a suspiciously high volume of vehicular traffic to and from Munguia’s address.

Over the span of two days, approximately 25 vehicles were seen frequenting her residence, raising concerns about possible drug-related activities.

The investigation took a more focused turn when law enforcement gained access to Munguia’s Facebook messages.

These messages, spanning from February to June 17, 2023, contained conversations in which Munguia was either selling controlled substances or receiving requests to do so.

Notably, she appeared to be inviting individuals to her home, indicating that drug transactions may have been taking place on the premises.

On September 5, 2023, Fergus Falls Police Officers executed a search warrant at Munguia’s residence, leading to her apprehension.

According to Law Enforcement’s Statement of Probable Cause: Law enforcement entered and began clearing the residence. The defendant ran to a bathroom and shut the door. Eventually the defendant opened the door and officers could see the toilet flushing, water was on the floor as well as the defendant’s hands. The defendant was subsequently taken into custody.

During the search, law enforcement discovered a white crystalline substance suspected to be methamphetamine, weighing approximately 23.6 grams, in a plastic baggie.

This substance later tested positive for methamphetamine.

Furthermore, items bearing Munguia’s name were found in the master bedroom, where the baggie containing methamphetamine was located.

Law enforcement also discovered pay/owe sheets and a purse containing $4,068.00 in U.S. currency.

In addition to the methamphetamine, officers found 16 oxycodone pills inside a kitchen cabinet, as well as suboxone strips, a scale, miscellaneous drug paraphernalia, and a bag of small plastic baggies.

Detective Estep informed Munguia of her Miranda rights, after which Munguia denied involvement in narcotics sales.

She asserted that she possessed a prescription for the oxycodone due to back pain, explaining that she kept 35 of the 42 pills for personal use.

When questioned about the remaining seven pills, Munguia declined to provide a response.

As a result of this investigation, Munguia now faces multiple charges, including:
