(Fergus Falls, Minn) – Greater Fergus Falls (GFF) is privileged to announce that Alterations By Sydney Avis recently opened for business in the Fergus Falls area. The new alterations business will feature sewing and alteration services.
Owner Sydney Meder said, “I am truly passionate about the art of sewing and bridal gowns/formalwear. I started sewing as a child, and over the years I gained experience dressmaking & working at different bridal stores,” she continued, “The business began when a friend-of-a-friend asked me to alter her bridesmaids dress last minute, with the options for alterations being so limited locally I felt compelled to help. Then, before I knew it I was getting calls from other people needing alterations as well. So, I ordered some business cards and here we are; a year and just over a hundred dresses later. It’s been such a joy to put a purpose to my passions.”
As an early-stage entrepreneur, owner Sydney Meder has been working with GFF through their Entrepreneur Initiative to receive free and confidential one-on-one consulting for start-ups. The program provides in-person, virtual or hybrid coaching options for start-ups and technical assistance to existing business owners.
