(Minneapolis, MN) — A Hennepin County judge has ruled against nine high school hockey players who were seeking a temporary restraining order to let their team play in the Minnesota Boys State Hockey Tournament.
The seniors from Hill-Murray School had sued the Minnesota State High School League.
Shortly after their team played White Bear Lake for the section championship they learned a White Bear player had tested positive for COVID-19.
The league says that means the team had to quarantine, effectively knocking it out of the tournament.
They wanted the game to be rescheduled, but the judge’s ruling takes that off the table – and Hill-Murray’s season is over.
