Voters of Battle Lake School District #542 gave their approval to “Referendum 2023” on Tuesday, November 7, both at the Battle Lake City Hall and through absentee ballots.
This endorsement enables the school to undertake necessary repairs and implement enhanced security measures in their facilities.
The final vote totals for the referendum were 720 in favor and 567 against.
Battle Lake voters supported a single-question bond referendum amounting to $30,520,000, dedicated to improvements in facilities and the learning environment.
Battle Lake Superintendent Rob Nudell commented saying, “The passing of the bond referendum reflects our shared commitment to providing the best education and experience for our students, staff, and community. Thank you,”
He continued, “This investment will allow us to continue to offer the exceptional education our community expects, and our students deserve.”
The district is committed to keeping the community informed about the progress of both current and future facility projects, with next steps to involve ongoing design and engineering collaboration with project partner SitelogIQ.
